Manaaki Marae: Bilingual Booking Platform.

The Problem

A cluster of marae in Te Tai Tokerau needed a way to manage visitor bookings, accommodation, and powhiri scheduling. Existing tools didn't support te reo Maori or the cultural protocols required.

The Solution

Built a custom web application with bilingual EN/MI interface, calendar-based booking system, automated powhiri scheduling, and offline-capable design for areas with limited connectivity.

The Result

15 marae onboarded in the first 3 months. Booking administration time reduced by 70%. First digital platform designed specifically for marae operations in Aotearoa.

InvoiceFlow: NZ-First Invoicing SaaS.

The Problem

NZ sole traders and small businesses were stuck between simple invoicing tools that didn't handle GST properly and enterprise software that was overkill. Nothing handled the IRD compliance layer natively.

The Solution

Designed and built a SaaS invoicing platform with native GST handling, Xero sync, automated IRD-compliant invoice numbering, recurring billing, and expense tracking.

The Result

200+ active users in the first 6 months. Average time to create and send an invoice dropped from 12 minutes to under 2 minutes. Zero IRD compliance issues reported.

Hillside Goods: Boutique E-Commerce.

The Problem

A Wanaka ceramics brand was selling through Instagram DMs and a basic Shopify template. They needed a store that reflected their brand quality and handled NZ-specific shipping and payments.

The Solution

Custom Shopify storefront with NZ payment gateway integration (Windcave + Afterpay), inventory sync across in-person markets and online, and a design system that matched their brand · warm, tactile, editorial.

The Result

Online sales increased 340% in the first quarter after launch. Average order value up 28%. Market-day inventory reconciliation time reduced from 3 hours to 30 minutes.
